Specs:

  • Width: 8 1/10"
  • Length: 15 3/4"
  • Weight: 7.9 oz
  • Grip Length: 5 3/4"
  • Beam Width: 14mm

How long have you played with the HEAD Gravity LH?

David: I played with its predecessor for a while, and have been playing with the updated LH version since it came out in Spring 2021.

What do you like about the HEAD Gravity LH?

David: I have always liked the playability from the Gravity, but the changes to the LH offer new advantages. The longer handle (it was 4.25" and is now 5.75") gives me the option for my two-handed backhand drives. It also has a little more whip because of the new shape. That gives me more power, especially on my serve and groundstrokes. I can also generate a bit more spin. It is only .1 ounce heavier, so the weight difference does not hinder maneuverability. I haven't noticed any difference in the quick net exchanges from the additional weight, however, I do feel I can be a bit more aggressive on the pop-ups.

Have you had to make any adjustments because of the changes in the paddle?

David: Because of the longer handle, I am adding more two-handed backhand drives to my game. I love having that option. Also, I have to be a bit more focused because of the slightly smaller paddle face.

Are there any drawbacks to the new changes of the Gravity LH?

David: It has a bit less paddle surface now because of the longer grip, but the difference isn't noticeable in the playability. I add lead tape along the sides to bring the paddle weight up to 8.5 ounces. The weight distribution gives me more power and control.
